Batman V Superman 5 things I fear as I attend tonight

I will be hosting a podcast immediately after the screening. Maybe we will host it live (around 1am EST FRIDAY MORNING) via Youtube or Periscope

  1. Dark Night Returns is backwards – In Dark Night Returns, Superman flies in to reign in Batman’s enforcement of marshal law in Gotham. Superman is Ronald Reagan’s tool, in more ways than one. From everything in trailers, we see a lot of Dark Night Returns images, but it looks like Superman is the one feared and Batman is trying to bring him down. Is Batman the Boy Scout now? It is assumed the scene where Superman is ruling a military is a dream sequence. Or I thought perhaps that Superman is a Clone that becomes… we’ll get to that in a second…

  2. Lex Luthor is actually JR – From everything I have seen and heard, Jesse Eisenberg is not playing the ultimate arch enemy of Superman, rather his son. So in this universe, Lex and Clark never battle wits? Almost feels more like a job for Superboy here.

  3. Doomsday is getting Bizzarro’s Origin Story – Doomsday has had a few origins via comics and animation, but everything here points to a Bizzarro origin, where Lex uses Superman’s DNA. So is Doomsday now Zod’s Bizzarro?

  4. Batman is just too old. We got plenty of origin story in Christian Bale’s movie arch. But this Batman seems so much older than Superman. Batman has always seemed wiser to the real world. Or has a lot of time passed since MAN OF STEEL? PS – By comparison, Alfred seems too young.

    5. They get it so wrong, DCU is dead as far as movies go. Other movies are already slated, but look how many times DC failed rebooting Superman, only to give us Superman Returns and Man of Steel – BOTH Mediocre at best. I will always be a DC kid, but Marvel is simply kicking ass on TV (considering Netflix) and Cinema. I think we all agree, MARVEL is nailing but having all Movies and TV shows live in same universe. We love an crossovers and every egg they plop down in front of us. We get Flash on Supergirl this week but how hard was that to make happen. It should be a no-brainer. Instead we have an ever growing list of shows that have nothing to do with another. Form a marketing stand point alone, this is just stupid. One audience cares little about the other. Where as with MARVEL, I cannot wait to see how they tie SHIELD into CIVIL WAR.
