The X-Files remains in the top spot of most popular ranked tv shows on IMDB. Coming in second is American Crime Story followed by Game of Thrones and Walking Dead. No doubt, Fox executives are beyond ecstatic about the current ratings of the revival and many fans have noticed the network has been promoting Monday’s finale as a SEASON finale (instead of series finale).

Earlier in the season, Fox entertainment president David Madden told Variety “We said before it aired that we would love to do more, and we are over the moon with the performance. So far, the response has been really encouraging.” When speaking about the possibility of another season, Madden added “We haven’t talked to the talent yet about Season 2 in any more definitive way than we had prior to airing the show, but certainly, it seems like there’s an audience responding to the show that would love to see more episodes,”  Of course technically this would be season 11 for The X-Files, but season 2 of the revival.

The X-files has held strong ratings since it’s season opener which was impressive with over 50 million international viewers watching the two night premiere in the first three days following it’s debut on Fox in 80 different countries. This is great news for X-Philes, many who have been thankful for the six episodes but would love to see more.

The Season Finale of The X-Files “My Struggle II” airs Monday night on FOX
